Real Answers About Good Hummus

If you have a question about what's in our Hummus, how we make it, or why it costs what it costs — it's probably here.

Ingredients

Is Good Hummus seed oil free?

Yes. We use only organic extra-virgin olive oil & organic refined coconut oil in our Chunky Brownie Batter flavor. No canola, no sunflower, no seed oils of any kind.

Does Good Hummus have any preservatives?

None. Every ingredient is real food: chickpeas, olive oil, lemons, garlic, sea salt. The one exception is a small amount of citric acid in the Chunky Brownie Batter flavor — naturally derived, and the only reason that flavor works the way it does.

Are all your Good Hummus ingredients organic?

Yes — real garlic, real lemons, real peppers. The same ingredients you'd use if you made hummus at home, just better sourced.

Are your Good Hummus chickpeas sprayed with glyphosate?

No. We use Palouse Brand organic chickpeas, certified glyphosate-residue free. We cook them from dry — not canned — which preserves more vitamins and minerals. Same reason we use Celtic sea salt.

Do the Good Hummus jars contain plastic?

Never. Every jar is USA-made glass — reusable and recyclable. That was a deliberate choice from the beginning.

Storage & Freshness

Does Good Hummus need to be refrigerated?

Yes — Good Hummus lives in the fridge. Opened or unopened, it stays fresh for one month refrigerated. No preservatives means it won't survive a shelf, and that's exactly how we want it.

Price & Value

Why is Good Hummus more expensive than store-bought?

Because it's made differently. Small batch, premium organic ingredients, cooked from dry, packed in glass. This is hummus made better than homemade. Most people who try it tell us they don't go back to store-bought — and have even stopped making it themselves. The flavor, texture, and quality aren't in the same category.

I thought hummus was supposed to be healthy?

Real hummus is. Most store-bought hummus isn't. Check the label: canola oil, potassium sorbate, "natural flavors." Good Hummus has none of that. Just real food.

Who We Are

What charities does Good Hummus support?

We give 10% of profits to human-focused charities serving Greenville County: Loaves & Fishes, Safe Harbor, Let There Be Mom, and Greer Rescue. Local giving only — we know exactly where the money goes.

Are you Arabic, Middle Eastern, or from the region?

We're not — Ian and Devon are from South Carolina. But we've sold hundreds of jars to customers who've eaten hummus in Israel, Turkey, and Lebanon. Several have told us our Signature flavor reminds them of home. That's the best review we could ask for.
